I wanted to let you know about two things going on:
Toy Tokyo and my friend Dizmo culled 80 works of art to auction off online with 100% of the proceeds going to Japan relief. It is a great opportunity to snatch up works by Stash, Shepard Fairey, Henry Chalfant, Crash, and myself for way under market value while supporting a good cause. The drawing I made for this occasion reads Keizoku Wa Chikara Nari which is a Japanese proverb that translates to “Perseverance is Strength”.
Also, if you are going to be in LA check out Martha Cooper : Remix at the Carmichael Gallery opening tomorrow night. For the exhibition Martha Cooper invited 50 artists to select a photograph from her oeuvre and create a corresponding work. I selected picture from her most recent book Name Tagging which is of a sticker by Sure, my former partner in crime. I attached an image of my painting (16″ x 20″ acrylic on paper) side by side with the photo that inspired it. You can read more about the show on Cool Hunting.
